Historic Newton Boathouse

Daily Update

Status ImageOn February 14, our Newton location is closed for the season. Thanks for a great season! Don't forget to buy your season pass for this year. Opening day May 1st!

Where Past Meets Present

The Historic Newton Boathouse has long been known as one of the best places to rent a kayak or canoe to explore the beautiful Charles River. Encompassing six miles of flatwater from Newton Lower Falls to the Moody Street Dam in Waltham, the Lakes District of the Charles River has so much beauty to explore.

The Historic Newton Boathouse, located on Commonwealth Avenue next to the Newton Marriott in Auburndale, is open seven days a week for rentals. You can visit our Historic Newton Boathouse Store while after paddling to check out buying your own kayak, canoe, SUP, and more. We even offer secure, convenient, private boat storage that makes it easy for you to grab your boat and get paddling!

Activities

Historic Newton Boathouse offers a variety of boat rentals, classes and camps. There is something for everyone in your family to enjoy and have fun!

Floater Plan Agreement
All boat renters need this form at our boathouse locations and we encourage you to print and fill it out ahead of time so you have more time in the water!
