It all began in 2002 with the vision of one man, Barry. As B&G Outdoor Recreation, Barry started offering a range of boats to the visitors of Hopkinton State Park and word started getting around. Each year we provided more boats, canoes and kayaks and in 2005 the Department of Conservation and Recreation approached us to get something similar going at Spot Pond. And then at Myles Standish State Forest in 2009. Well, the Town of Wakefield knew a good thing when they saw it and that same year, community boating came to Lake Quannapowitt.
Since those first boats were hired out at Hopkinton State Park, we've grown to offer over 200 canoes and kayaks, sailing boats, peddling boats, stand up paddleboards and wind surfers at 5 beautiful locations around Boston.
We have day camps and lessons, rentals and memberships and help over 20,000 people, regardless of their age or fitness, enjoy the Boston lakes every season.
If you are looking for some serious fun this summer, come down and see us!
